Van, Owner

 

I have been in the restaurant business for 39 years.  I started as a freshman in college and never looked back.  I spent 18 years with Marriott Corporation and left them to start my own restaurant.  Vantastic's All Day Cafe & Grill in Mooresville, NC will be my 4th restaurant.  The first two I started with partners and then started Vantastic's All Day Cafe in Creedmoore, NC on my own.  It has been a successful concept and I am excited to bring the concept to Mooresville.  

 

The concept is to serve you a quality home-cooked meal in a relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price.  I believe people should be comfortable and enjoy their dining experience, without it taking all day and night to eat the meal.  I am excited to incorporate a lot of familly and friends into the restaurant.  The murals on the walls have been done by a family friend, and the baking and deserts are being prepared by a dear friend.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your dining experience better.  

 

As for me, I am the proud father of 2 amazing kids.  My son lives in Columbia, SC with his amazing wife.  They have blessed me with a beautiful granddaughter who has me completely wrapped around her finger.  My daughter lives in Raleigh.  I was born in Oklahoma but grew up in Charlotte, where I graduated from South Mecklenburg High School and then attended East Carolina University.  I have lived in Georgia and the Raleigh/Durham area, but am very excited to get back to this area.

Welcome to Vantastic's.  It took a long while, but I convinced Van to move back to the area.  He lets me believe he listens to my thoughts on the restaurant and then proceeds to do what he already knows he was going to do.  To most women, this would make them mad, but the thing is he is USUALLY right (at least for the restaurant).

 

I grew up in High Point, NC, where I graduated from Westchester Academy and then graduated from Rollins College in Winterpark, Florida.  I moved to Charlotte in 1984 and then to Huntersville in 1998.  I have two amazing children, one daughter and one son.  Both kids have helped this dream come true for Van and me and we are extremely lucky to have them.  

 

Thank you for coming to Vantastic's.  Whether this is your first visit or you're 100th, we hope you have had a wonderful experience.  If we can do anything please do not hesitate to ask.  Our goal is to make this a wonderful dining experience for you and your family.

Emily, Artist

I am a 21 year old Architeture Student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  While I am working towards a Bachelors of Arts in Architecture, my true passion has always been visual arts.  Ever since I can remember I have been face down in a sketchbook.  In high school I took every art class that I could including, photography, 2D Design, Ceramics and even Advanced Placement Visual Arts.  After three years of architecture school, I realized that it was time to get back to my roots and start painting and drawing again.  I will graduate in 2014, and in the meantime I am trying to turn my focus toward my passion, with hopes that I can find a career that supports my artistic abilities.  

 

If I am not behind a lens or with a brush in my hand you will most likely find me enjoying the outdoors with my loving boyfriend and family.  I have been fortunate enough to travel to various places around the world, with experiences in nature in so many different forms.  I have come to realize that nature is my ultimate inspiration.
